blog - rainbow cushion

rainbow cushion with appliglue

a cushion with a rainbow on it was needed to complete the look in

a little girl's bedroom!

so we set to work with some felt and clear appliglue - this is how we did it

We chose a plain cream cushion and selected the felt colours for our rainbow - we chose pastels but create your own look - small squares are available in most craft stores  Next we downloaded a rainbow template and set to work cutting out the felt - we lay the colours out to determine the best order  Drawing circles around household objects seemed to work best - we used plates and cups/glasses for the different sizes

We then started assembling the pieces using clear Appliglue. Spread the glue thinly to avoid discolouring the felt.  Finally we decided to add some clouds to finish off the look (and to hide any uneven cutting!)  Once we were happy we cut trimmed the centre to create our rainbow and glued it all to the cushion.
