University for the Creative Arts Farnham

Amy has recently graduated from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. 

My work focuses on growth and decay, expressing the changes in nature on a variety of surfaces such as mould, rust, moss. These textiles are inspired by tactile qualities and vibrant colour, reinterpreting their surfaces into new contemporary designs and reinventing them into fashion pieces. My textile collection is full of textures and layers.

Developing photographic images into paint, merging into digitally manipulated designs, screen print and distressed surfaces, the work explores different ways of experimenting with overprinted composition, to create richly textured fashion fabrics on heavyweight cloths for sharply structured garment.
